GRADE 4 – 7

GRADE 4 – 7

We work hard, live neatly, and speak life at Swartland Primary School.

Learners in the Intermediate and Senior Phases (Grades 4 – 7) benefit from an exemplary education delivered by proficient specialists, who foster opportunities for each student, to explore and pursue their academic interests.

At Swartland Primary School, our dedicated staff is committed to educating our learners holistically.

Our Intermediate and Senior Phase learners strive for their dreams.

Our learners undergo a continuous assessment process and achieve outstanding results in systemic tests that far exceed WCED standards. Adhering closely to the CAPS requirements, our curriculum incorporates contemporary and relevant topics, ensuring its applicability and engagement in our learners’ daily lives. In the process, interaction between every member of staff and learner is fostered, thereby ensuring that knowledge and values are not only established, but also enhanced.

Swartland Primary School aims for excellence, surrounded by a positive learning environment.

From Grade 4, learners have the opportunity to sharpen and enrich their skills through participation in AMESA and CONQUESTA Olympiads held annually. These extra activities reinforce our learners’ understanding of Mathematics and other key concepts, while developing their confidence and problem-solving skills. We strive to create an environment where learners can thrive and fully realise their potential.

We are dedicated to paving the way for our grade 7 learners.

The focus on our Grade 7 learners is aimed at facilitating the transition from their last year in primary school to their first year in high school. This transitional year is of cardinal importance, serving as the bridge to the next phase in their high school career. We aim to empower each learner with the ability to adapt confidently and seamlessly to any high school and to make that transition to high school life as smooth as possible.

This pursuit of a successful transition to high school is based on our ideal of equipping learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to face the high school environment. We believe that a solid foundation in core subjects, as well as strong academic and social preparation, is the key to a successful transition and a successful future for every learner.
