LEARNER SUPPORT

LEARNER SUPPORT

School-Based Support Team (SBST)

Swartland Primary School proudly identifies as a Full-Service School, where the well-being of each learner is prioritised to ensure that everyone receives the necessary support to grow, not only academically, but also as individuals.

The SBST is responsible for determining the needs of our learners. They co-ordinate the support required by learners and use the school framework and Departmental policies to help learners to reach their full academic potential.

Additional Educational Support

A dedicated team of educators collaborates to provide support to our learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7. Our Vissie Class creates a comfortable learning space for our Foundation Phase learners, where support and further enrichment are offered to small groups during class time. Assistants and interns offer additional support to teachers during class hours.

Extra classes in Languages and Mathematics are also offered to Grade 4 to 7 learners throughout the year. Learners have the opportunity to consolidate and strengthen their knowledge in the mornings before school.

Educational Support Team

Our school embraces District Individual Support, where our staff receives extra assistance from professional occupational therapists, psychologists and speech therapists who visit the school regularly to offer additional support to our learners. In addition, a qualified Remedial Teacher provides individual support to our Foundation Phase learners during school hours.
